Fortis announces its plans for a hospital in Hyderabad
One of India’s leading hospital chains, Fortis Healthcare, is looking to grow further with a new hospital in Hyderabad. Fortis already has a strong presence in central Southern India and Daljit Singh, the Fortis’ President of Strategic and Organizational Development, said that Hyderabad was their next consideration.
Hyderabad was part of the Fortis' bigger plan to invest around INR 1,500-2,000 to set up approximately 40 hospitals across India. "We are exploring all modes of growth including Greenfield, Brownfield, joint venture, merger and acquisition," said Singh.
Fortis plans to invest in at least 10 hospitals in tier II cities. The new hospitals will feature 100-beds and cater to about 85% of the cities’ health needs, with some patients being referred to Fortis’s larger hospitals in the metros.
